Anders Ekborg plays the role of Karl Oskar.
Anders Ekborg was born in 1960 in Stockholm. His professional debut on stage took place in 1986 in the musical Zorba at the Östgöta Theater in Norrköping, Sweden. During that time he also performed in Nils Holgersson at the same theater.
In 1987 Anders Ekborg appeared in West Side Story with the Gothenburg City Theater.
In 1988 he joined the Backa Theater, the children's theater of the city of Gothenburg. One of the several roles he played there was that of Puck for a musical production of A midsummer night's dream which was also broadcast on television.
In 1990 Anders Ekborg became a member of the ensemble at Dramaten, the Royal Dramatic Theater, in Stockholm. He won roles in such productions as Jelena, dearest, Amorina, Peer Gynt, On the run, Measure for Measure, Peter Pan, and Ivanov. He also participated in the performances of Dramaten Sings and played the lead role in the Swedish musical The boy and the star.
Anders Ekborg has also appeared in the Swedish films Polis, polis potatismos, The dream house, and Illusions as well as the TV movie Mrs. Ingeborg, the boss.
He has also performed in concerts, radio plays, and participated in the television musical Music and more.
Anders played Karl Oskar in Kristina from Duvemåla in Malmö and in Gothenburg as well as performing that role in the concerts in Minnesota for a USA tour in 1996.
Together with the other three soloists, Anders collaborated on the Swedish Grammy Award winning CD Kristina from Duvemåla which was released in October 1996.
In 1997 Anders has sung in concerts and appeared in Swedish television thriller series entitled Insider. He also played a role in the movie Kontraktet (The contract).
Education and training:
Anders Ekborg attended the University of Gothenburg's College of Theater and Opera between 1984 and 1987. He has a wide repertoire both as an actor and singer.
