Carina Söderman

Carina Söderman plays the role of Ulrika from Västergöhl.

Carina Söderman was born in 1964 in Säffle, in the province of Värmland. In 1988 she made her professional stage debut in Ivo Cramér's production of the musical Stop the world, I want to get off for the Riksteatern (The Swedish National Touring Theater).

In 1988-90 Carina performed in Riksteatern's production of The three penny opera as well as Fiddler on the roof.

In 1991 she appeared in Les Misèrables at the Cirkus Theater in Stockholm.

In 1992 Carina appeared in Zorba at the Södra Theater in Stockholm.

In 1993-94 Carina Söderman directed and played the lead role in a newly written musical for young people called Är det tufft med spräckt skalle? (Is it hard having a broken skull?) in Örebro, 150 kilometers west of Stockholm.

In the summer of 1995 Carina played the lead role in a new play called Gerlög's rune, a Viking drama. This was performed on the island of Adelsö outside Stockholm.

In the autumn of 1995 Carina played Ulrika in the original performance of Kristina from Duvemåla at the Malmö Music Theater in Malmö and she had the same role when the production moved to Gothenburg.

In the autumn of 1997 she appeared in Innan det rasar (Before the fall) at Unga Studion in Gothenburg.

Training: Carina Söderman was an intern at the Säffle Opera between 1979 and 1985. She filled in as a singer, associate director, and associate choreographer. Between 1985 and 1988 she attended the music school Kulturama in Stockholm.
